Job Seekers Allowance

Job Seekers Allowance is for those who are unemployed or working less than 16 hours per week, and who are available, and actively seeking employment.  Jobseeker's Allowance has two forms:-

  1. Contribution based JSA where entitlement is based on National Insurance contribution record and the award is at a flat rate
  2. Income Based JSA which is means tested and payable where a client has no, or a low, income.

There are a variety of benefits available to those with health problems or who are carers.
